my McFaddin and Matthews family history
Here are some family documents (geneology records) that outline my paternal ancestry lines: Vautrot, Matthews, Prather, McFaddin, and Duffie. My grandmother Dorothy Mavis Matthews used these heritage lines to establish our membership in the following organizations: Sons of the American Revolution (SAR); Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR); Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV); United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC).
I was born and raised in the Cajun Heartland of Southwestern Louisiana. Since the age of 5, I fished in freshwater rivers and bayous and hunted ducks and rabbits in our marshes and forests. In my adulthood, my interests broadened to include intense research into the US Civil War (War of Northern Aggression), as well as Bodybuilding/Weightlifting. I continue to engage in our Cajun culture through crawfishing on my family property, as well as jug fishing for catfish in local rivers. I am very good at catching bullfrogs with my bare hands late at night in our ponds, too. All of these skills, I am passing onto my son, Gabriel Luke. Moreover, I stay busy with work in the healthcare field, to support my family and take care of others in my community.
