The Vautrots and other families leave America for Brazil!

 Here are some articles discussing how some families from St. Landry parish left America after the US Civil War ended in 1865. They got aboard a ship and sailed to Brazil to start a new life for themselves. The families included: my great-great grandfather Francois J. Vautrot and his wife Amelia Burleigh Vautrot and their son, Francois Louis Vautrot; as well as other families: Sibilles, Johnsons, and Andrus. They later returned to St. Landry parish in 1871.
